So I finally bit the bullet and placed my first order! I picked up some soft wool sweaters, gorgeous knits and even a pair of high-waisted trousers to judge the fit, sizing and quality of this cult-favorite Parisian brand.
Update: After being impressed with the brand's quality, I picked up a couple more pieces! This Spring I tried out their tops and jeans.
Here's my review of everything I've tried from Parisien brand Sezane.

Overall, I was really impressed with Sezane!
The order did take a while to ship (1-2 weeks), but when it came, everything was beautifully packaged. Sezane prints a pretty floral sticker with your name right on the box, which is a thoughtful touch, and inside all the items are nicely folded and wrapped in tissue paper.
I especially loved the perfume scent that wafted up as I opened the package. It transformed a regular shipping box into a nice gift box! It's also smart marketing ha – I looked up Sezane's perfume right after because I loved the scent.
Sezane sizing runs slightly large. I would get your normal size in the knitwear, for a relaxed slouchy fit, but size down in the pants.
Below is more info on each Sezane item I ordered, with quick thoughts on quality and sizing:
Sezane T Shirt
in Ecru, size xs
I'm always on the hunt for simple but cute white tops.
So when I saw this lace up t-shirt from Sezane, I was really tempted. It's made from 100% linen and feels like a slubby textured organic cotton in person.
I really the look and feel of the tee and the lace up detail on the front is eye catching but still easy to wear with any type of pant.
It has short sleeves, a simple crew neckline and a slightly oversized fit. Definitely a favorite – this top looks great on it's own or underneath a jacket or blazer!
Sezane Micky White Wool Jumper
in Ecru, size xs
This super chunky white jumper is the reason I placed my first order.
I jumped on it (haha). I love a good white sweater in winter because I think they just brighten up your face and look so fresh and clean in dreary grey weather.
This one has a thick funnel collar, with chunky buttons. I like that you can wear it all the way up if it's cold and windy out, or fold it down like a collar.
Length wise, it comes to just around the hips, so it's the perfect length. I'm wearing it with shorts in the video because we still have some nice fall weather, but I think it would look great with jeans and brown ankle booties, or black leggings and chunky combat boots.
Overall a really nice quality wool sweater. I especially like that it's oversized so you can layer underneath!
Sezane Ally Jumper
in Sky Blue, size xs
This is one of those wool sweaters that's beautifully made and really high quality.
It's feminine but also a bit structured and masculine at the same time.. it reminds me a bit of Isabel Marant's sweaters!
I like the vertical stitches which make you look taller. And the balloon sleeves that taper in at the cuff are a nice touch.
The only thing is sizing. Because this jumper is made of wool, it doesn't have much give or stretch to it. I would recommend sizing up one or two sizes so that you can layer underneath!
Sezane Ethan Jumper
in Ecru Pink, size xs
I was drawn to the cable knit pattern and button detail on this reddish pink sweater.
It has a really fancy stitched pattern all over, in varying widths, ropes and textures that make give the sweater a lot of texture. I like that the cable knit angles into a V shape pattern in the front, because it creates the illusion of a narrow waist – especially with the angled buttons.
At the top, there's diagonal buttons that are functional, so you can show a bit of skin or put a colorful button down shirt underneath to peek through.
Finally, this Sezane sweater is a little different from the others because it's made from cotton.
If you have sensitive skin, you might prefer this to their alpaca, mohair and wool sweaters. There's absolutely no itch and it's very cute!
Sezane Perine Gilet Short Sleeve Cardigan
in Blue, size xs
I also ordered this short sleeve sweater cardigan.
I love the cable knit detail and the bright blue color, it really stands out in person. The knit pattern continues on the sleeves and back, so it's a nicely made piece.
The cardigan has a really deep v in the front so you could wear it on it's own with some necklaces, or throw it over a cami or tank top. I also liked the puff sleeves, they're not too exaggerated or clownish.
I will say – it's kind of itchy. I have pretty sensitive skin and the wool content was a little too much for me to wear on it's own.
If you love very feminine knitwear, this is a nice option!
Sezane Short Sleeve Tee
in Emerald, size xs
Next I got this green knit t-shirt. I don't really wear regular t shirts, but I love a cashmere tee or knit version!
This one is made from a soft wool and has a wide boat neck collar.
The front has tiny buttons that go all the way up, and you can wear this sweater a lot of different ways depending on how you button it.
You can even wear it backwards! I actually like it best backwards because it looks like a slouchy cool knit tee from the front.
Fit wise, this Sezane sweater is a bit on the larger, looser side, which gives it a very effortless feel despite it being a knitwear piece.
Also comes in white and hot pink.
Sezane Paco Jumper
in Sky Blue, size xs
I liked the short sleeve option so much I got it again!
This time I picked the sky blue color. It's a very pretty color in person, more like a mottled white and baby blue texture that remind me of fluffy clouds in the sky in spring.
Same relaxed fit and double sided versatility!
I think the pale blue is a bit more wearable than the green and in general, this style is one of my favorites from Sezane.
It's easy to dress up or down and works in both casual and more formal work environments so you'd really get use out of it!
in Light Blue, size 2
I really liked these jeans!
They're a paperbag style jean, with some subtle stitching and piping in the front. They have a hybrid zip and button closure, which is a little different, and they're quite high waisted!
I thought these were really flattering – usually paper bag jeans can have a little too much fabric in the crotch area, but these are pretty fitted. Size wise, they run true to size (I'm usually a size 25 in denim and purchased the 2).
There's two small cut out pockets in the front while the back is styled more like a trouser with piped hidden pockets. I like how the leg tapers in for a very stylish mom jean fit.
The only (potential) con is that these are a rigid denim. Personally I prefer stiffer jeans because I think they provide more structure and are more flattering.. but the downside is they're definitely not as comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
These are made from 100% cotton – no stretch here!
Sezane Armando Trousers
in Light Blue, size 4 (but exchanged for a 2)
Finally, my other favorite item from the Sezane haul are these are high waisted, wide legged trousers.
I love the light blue trouser material. These have pleats and cinches at the waist, but those side buttons are just decorative.
These trousers are on the long size, so you'd probably have to get them tailored. They also come in a bunch of colors and a denim version.
I saw these last year and they seem to come in and out of stock.
Fit: I ordered them in the 4 (and am wearing that in the try-on video) but they are a little too big.
I've since returned and re-ordered in a 2, which fit much better in the waist, but still run on the looser and longer side. I'll have to tailor them, so am still debating about keeping..
In general, I find that Sezane runs slightly oversized. I think the trend is for looser, more relaxed clothing so I actually like that!
But, I've noticed the fit of each item tends to really depend on the fabric content.
For Sezane's knitwear, the alpaca and mohair items are very loose, flowy and oversized so I recommend sizing down.
However, for Sezane's cotton and wool based knits, I find they run quite fitted. If you want a more tailored look, stay with your normal size. For me personally, I like to be able to layer underneath my sweaters, especially when they are made of itchy wool, so I would size up one or two sizes.
When it comes to Sezane's bottoms, I also find that things vary a bit!
Their jeans run pretty true to size. They are a more rigid denim, without stretch, so definitely on the more tight and form fitting side. I would stick with your normal size.
But the trousers on the other hand, seem to run a bit loose. I would recommend sizing down one size!
