Work from Home Outfits

Some people love it, others hate it. For better or for worse, it seems like working from home is by now, the new normal.

I’ll be honest – I love it.

At work I used to get so distracted by other people’s phone calls that all the peace and quiet has made me so much more productive! My previous offices have always been ‘trading floor’ style where we all sat within arms length of each other.

But I’ll admit, I go through waves of productivity at home. It’s so easy to get distracted by the TV.. the kitchen.. the bed (!) that I either have a fantastic week of crushing through work or a week of binging Netflix on the couch.

So after months of working in pajamas and cozy lounge wear, with an erratic schedule, I figured I’d switch it up!

Everlane Work Clothes

They say if you really want to get things done, you have to treat a portion of your home like a true office – get up, make the bed, put on makeup and get dressed (as if you were surrounded by coworkers).

So I just got a standing desk to create an “at home” office and I’ve been making an effort to get properly dressed!

Here are my suggestions for comfortable but put together Work from Home outfits. There’s a Youtube video below you can watch, or keep scrolling to see photos of each item :)

Everlane Work Outfits

Most of these Everlane items I’ve had for a while – they’re really versatile! You can wear them in almost any season and dress them down for errands or dress them up to suit an office environment.

Everlane Clean Silk Shirt

in Black, size 2

Everlane Clean Silk Shirt Review

Everlane makes “clean” silk tops that are meant to be washable.

The cut of their silk shirts is always really flattering, and they offer the silk blouses in lots of different necklines – stiff collars, notched down, short sleeve, long sleeve, sleeveless, mock neck – you name it.

While I’d say the fabric doesn’t feel quite as silky smooth as traditional silk, it’s still very comfortable to wear and drape-y.

Even better, the fabric is machine washable! I hate dry clean only clothes.

Everlane Cotton Merino Polo

in Bone, size s

Everlane Polo Review

I’m a big fan of Everlane’s knit tops and this cotton merino polo is another hit.

I like the open relaxed collar which makes it feel less like a starched, stuffy polo shirt and more like a relaxed, dressy top. The fabric is pretty comfortable, although the bone color is slightly sheer.

This one goes with anything!

Everlane ReCashmere Button Mockneck

in Bone, size medium

Everlane Mockneck Review

This is one of my favorite sweaters from the brand.

It has the look of a henley but in sweater form. In the winter I layer it over bodysuits and heat tech tops and in the summer, I wear it on its own.

It’s a very thin cashmere knit – which I personally like!

Fit wise, it runs pretty small. I would recommend sizing up 1 to 2 sizes, otherwise the torso is a bit too short and cropped.

Everlane Cropped Alpaca Cardigan

in Rose, size s

Everlane Cropped Alpaca Cardigan Review

This cardigan is super soft and a nice fluffy thick knit.

It’s made from alpaca so personally, I find it slightly itchy, but if you have normal skin you could wear it on its own.

I like the chunky beige buttons and the slight balloon sleeves. It comes in a couple pastel shades which are all really pretty!

Everlane Waffle Knit Henley

Everlane Waffle Knit Henley Review

If you like henleys, you’ll love this waffle knit version!

It’s made from a nice thicker cotton fabric and it’s so cozy and comfortable to wear. I sized up for a looser fit and liked it so much that I now have two – in the bone and navy colors.

It also has a nice contrast detail on the neckline! I usually wear this with leggings for a casual day at home, and like that it’s long enough to fully cover the bum.

Everlane Short Sleeve Waffle Crew

in White, size xs

Everlane Waffle Crew Review

Lots of people rave about Everlane t-shirts. This one is subtly different with a waffle fabric, which is a nice upgraded touch to an otherwise basic tee.

I like the color (bone as usual) but it is slightly see through. I do think you could dress this tee shirt up with some gold jewelry and slacks to make it work appropriate.

Fit wise, I think it runs slightly short in the torso. I like to wear it tucked in, but it’s one of those tees that could benefit from being just an inch longer so it would stay tucked in better. If you want to wear it casually un-tucked, it would be great!

Everlane Straight Leg Crop

in Bone, regular length, size 2

Everlane Straight Leg Crop Review

I love these white jeans. The denim is thick but soft and stretchy so they’re comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time – even sitting down all day in an office or traveling on planes.

They’re also not see through (as long as you wear nude underwear with white clothing). It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when you can see pocket linings or anything else with thin white pants!

I also think the Straight Leg jeans would be flattering on any body type, because the denim is so forgiving and stretchy. Finally I like the crop length, although you could choose the Tall if you want a full length pair.

These are my go-to pants in the summer and I’ve had them for a couple years now – they hold up great!

Everlane Lightweight Straight Leg Crop

in Light Khaki, size 0 (fits loose, size down)

Everlane Lightweight Straight Leg Crop Review

These khaki crop pants have really grown on me!

They’re essentially the same cut as the Bone jeans I mentioned above, but because of the different fabric, they feel completely different.

These pants are made from a thin, breathable khaki so they’re very summer appropriate. Even though I sized down, they still feel very loose on the waistband so this is a more relaxed style.

I used to think khakis were for moms and dads but I’m kind of liking these crop pants with loafers and muscle t shirts!

Everlane Cotton Crew Tee

in Cerulean, size xs

Everlane Cotton Crew Tee Review

I wasn’t expecting to like this t shirt so much!

In general, I’m not a big t-shirt person but I kept hearing how great Everlane tees were that I picked a bunch to try out. This cotton crew is my favorite of the bunch, because it feels like a designer tee at a fraction of the price.

It has this extra soft, papery thin feel and comes in a rainbow of great colors. I like how it’s pretty form fitting without being tight and the long length makes it great to tuck in.

I would pair this with dressy shorts or denim cut offs on the weekends, and with straight leg black pants or underneath a black suit for the office. It’s super versatile!

Everlane Organic Cotton Box Cut Pocket Tee

in Black, size xs

everlane-box-cut-pocket-tee-review

Everlane Pocket Tee Review

Everlane’s Pocket tee is like the Goldilocks of t shirts. It’s not too tight, not too loose.. not too soft, not too stiff.

It’s a solid option if you just need to re stock on simple t shirts. They make them in so many colors and they’re quite affordable.

It’s a simple design, with a small pocket on the upper left side.

But compared to the Cotton Crew (above), I prefer the fit and fabric of that one. Because this Pocket Tee is made from Organic Cotton, it’s slightly less soft and slightly less form fitting. It’s also a little wider and boxier shaped, so this tee is what I reach for when I’m just at home or working out.

Loved all your tips! I like to wear a pair of super soft wide jeans with a ponte top. I find them the perfect combination of elegance and comfort.
