Best Travel Hair Dryers

Does this travel hair dryer have the right voltage to work during my vacation to Europe or Asia? Is it foldable, compact, and lightweight?

These are questions I kept asking myself when I was searching for the best travel hair dryer on the market, and I wanted to share my finds with you.

1. Best Luxury Travel Hair Dryer

Best-Travel-Hair-Dryer-Dyson

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

While technically not a travel hair dryer, the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, like all Dyson products, is extremely lightweight, durable, and easy to stow.

A marvel in modern technology, the Dyson hair dryer features a brushless, digital current motor that’s 5 to 6 times faster than the motors of other travel hair dryers.

The result is a lightweight (about 1.8 pounds) hair dryer that dries your hair faster than any of the best travel hair dryers out there – perfect for when you’re traveling and always have somewhere to be right away!

This luxury comes at a price, but if you travel plenty and dry your hair everyday anyway, the durability and performance of the Dyson is worth the investment!

5. Best Lightweight Travel Hair Dryer

Best Travel Hair Dryer Revlon

Revlon Compact Travel Hair Dryer

Though its light copper color may not be the most attractive design I’ve ever seen, the Revlon 1875 Watt Compact Travel Hair Dryer replaces in performance and value what it lacks in aesthetics many times over.

Its worldwide dual voltage compatibility means you can confidently throw the Revlon in your bag whether you’re traveling 10 blocks to the gym or 10 hours to your dream vacation in Europe.

Plus, the lightweight Revlon 1875 Watt travel hair dryer has anti-frizz ceramic coating with ionic propulsion, two heat and two speed buttons to go along with a cool shot feature, and includes a smoothing concentrating attachment so your hair doesn’t blow all over the place.

6. Best Travel Hair Dryer with Retractable Cord

Best Travel Hair Dryer Conair

Conair Vagabond Compact Folding Hair Dryer

The Conair Vagabond Compact 1600 Watt Folding Handle Hair Dryer may be the smallest travel hair dryer on this list, but remember, ladies – size doesn’t matter, it’s how you use it that counts!

Plus, the Conair’s foldable handle and lightweight frame (just 17 ounces) means this puppy can be added to pretty much any suitcase and you’ll hardly notice it’s there!

True to its vagabond namesake, the Conair comes replete with a dual voltage structure, meaning this gem of a travel hair dryer will work as hard as you to look great each morning no matter where your vacation takes you!

7. Best Frizz-Fighting Travel Hair Dryer

Best Travel Hair Dryer T3 Micro

T3 Micro Compact Travel Hair Dryer

This portable hair dryer tops the list for most chic.

Although it’s more expensive, I love how functional the T3 micro travel hair dryer is – I can dry my hair in 15 minutes and it weighs nothing, so my arms don’t get tired. Meanwhile, the foldable handle and quiet settings make this hair dryer ideal for travel.

There are just 2 settings, high and low, so if you want specific temperature control you might be disappointed. There is a cool setting though, which makes my hair so nice and shiny and is great when you want to “set” your blow dry.

Another nice feature is that you can just slide the ‘cool’ button up; you don’t have to hold it down like with some hair dryers.

Finally, the T3 micro comes with its own travel tote bag, a 9 foot cord and cord wrap for travel storage. You can purchase a T3 diffuser attachment separately as well.

Overall, this is my pick for best travel size hair dryer for its sleek looks and compact functionality. I have to admit it totally blows most budgets out of the water but I know it will last for ages. It also comes with a 2 year warranty.

The Best Travel Hair Dryer

How Do I Know if My Hair Dryer is Dual Voltage?

Checking the voltage settings of your travel hair dryer is incredibly important. Improper settings can lead to damaged equipment and even personal injury in certain cases.

The United States typically uses lower voltage (110-120 volts) than Europe and other counrtries (220-240 volts)

Check the power label of your travel hair dryer. If you only see one voltage listed, that means you have a single voltage travel hair dryer.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t use this travel hair dryer abroad, it just means you’ll need a great travel adapter to convert the voltage!

If the power label has 2 voltages listed, congrats! You have a dual voltage travel hair dryer, and you can safely use it anywhere on the globe. Just double check the voltage settings, which usually require manual switching.
