Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!

I’ve never done a proper Black Friday / Cyber Monday post before so I tried it out for the first time this year and wrote a roundup of all the sales in this post here. Is this helpful or interesting? Or are you all shopped out and disgusted by the commercialization of the holidays? Let me know if gift guides, sales and the like are something I should continue doing or a never again type situation.

For the non shoppers, I thought I would share some articles that I read recently and really enjoyed. C sends me a list of articles each morning to read and it takes me a while to get through them all but here are the ones I really liked.

Interesting Articles Around the Web – 11/26/16

The Agent: Did the C.I.A. stop an F.B.I. detective from preventing 9/11?

via The New Yorker

I am a HUGE fan of the New Yorker’s articles – 99% of the time they are extraordinarily well written and draw you in the same way a great book does. But they’re based on fact! Really the writers there are incredible. This article is no exception and explores the bureau’s investigation into 9/11 through the lens of a talented 29-year old Lebanese-American FBI detective.

No Evidence of Aloe Vera Found in the Aloe Vera at Walmart, CVS

via Bloomberg

Um, come again? A pretty shocking exposé. There’s also a link to a similar fraud run on Parmesan cheese. I try to cook as much as possible now… you never know what people will put in food that you haven’t made yourself!

Confessions of a Fashion Designer

via Glossy

Talks about why US production isn’t a serious option and gives a candid, anonymous insight into Chinese factories

Infrastructure Build or Privatization Scam?

via Paul Krugman (C’s favorite NY Times blogger)

Sparks a discussion on Trump’s infrastructure plan in admittedly a very biased liberal viewpoint. But I thought the questions he raised where good points and as someone with an infrastructure background, all together quite interesting!
