Hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to share some photos from my trip to New Orleans last week. These are all instagram snaps (follow me @shershegoes) taken via my iphone.
It was my first time to New Orleans and I stuck to mainly the Garden and French Quarter districts in one long weekend trip.
Highlights include enjoying 25 cent martinis at Commander’s Palace, touring the brewery at NOLA tap room, wandering the haunting St Louis cemetery and longingly gazing at the mansions of the Garden District.
I also explored the French Quarter and had a grand feast. If you’re in town, make sure to try oysters (in every way imaginable), alligator, beignets and of course drink! Open container laws mean you can enjoy your whiskey bourbons, mint juleps and creole lemonades en plein air.
On my last day, I joined a tour and headed about an hour outside of New Orleans to visit the Oak Alley plantation. How beautiful are the white columns against that tunnel of 150 year old oak trees?
I had a great trip and will hopefully upload some more pictures this week. Stay tuned!
