Rainy Day Outfit: Cargo Jacket with Short Rain Boots

Hope everyone's having a great week! Earlier this month I spent a couple weeks in Europe, visiting Germany, France, the Netherlands and Copenhagen and it was pretty chilly and rainy. I kept hearing from friends back home that New York had transitioned to summer and was so excited to get home and do a wardrobe refresh!

And then.. I came home and the windy rainy weather seemed to follow me. Oh well!

Rainy Day Outfit Ideas

For rainy days when you still have to go outside I love a good army jacket. This one from Macy's William Rast collection is a gorgeous faded light green with stars and patches to keep it interesting. I love that the back cinches with a drawstring to create some shape and that there's two front pockets for storing keys and my wallet card case. There's nothing more annoying that juggling an umbrella, purse and shopping bags and fumbling to find your wallet or keys.

Underneath, I kept everything simple in all black. The lace up knit has 3/4 sleeves and is super soft. It's also from William Rast – they make the best burnout tees, denim and street wear. The top is quite long and curve hugging so if you have a long torso, you would really love the fit! I picked it for the lace up detail in the front, which you could lace up all the way or as low as you want, depending on the outfit. The top is currently on sale for under $35 here.

Finally, I picked up these short rain boots that hit at the ankle, for a lighter yet still functional option for the rain!

What do you wear for rainy days?

Love how effortlessly chic this is! I’ve been looking to add more army jackets to my wardrobe and this Macy’s William one looks so so cute! Also is it just me or have rain boots come a long way from those boring, dorky long boots to these stylish, fun-colored ones!

Yes! I was immediately drawn to these rainboots because theyre ankle length and looked like regular short boots!
