Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe While in Paris, our hotel was under a 5 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe so luckily we saw this gorgeous view a lot. The above photo was taken on our way out to dinner. I liked the shot and couldn’t decide on color vs. black and white, so there you […]

Notre Dame de Paris

Notre Dame de Paris   Although the gargoyles are Notre Dame’s main draw, the church interior is cavernous and majestic and certainly not to be missed! I took a couple quick snapshots of the stained glass windows during a walk around the pews. The church interior is accessible via the main entrance and although […]

More great pics. I would advise a longer visit though for more of the effect. I love coming in the early morning and having the place mainly to myself and walking around. Sitting through Mass is also nice as it helps give you just a bit of that feeling of what it must have been like to sit there hundreds of years ago.

SherMarch 3, 2014 - 3:51 pm

ooh sitting in Mass must have been nice. Early morning is always a great time too – little to no crowds!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Eglise Sainte Chapelle

Eglise Sainte Chapelle In the heart of Paris, on the Ile de la Cite island, lies the Holy Chapel of Eglise Sainte Chapelle, a medieval Gothic chapel. The church was built sometime after 1239, commissioned by King Louis IX of France to house his Passion relics, among which included Christ’s Crown of Thorns. Sainte Chapelle […]

This is a really beautiful church. I hate the lines/security to get in but it is really amazing. You got wonderful pictures, ours did not turn out half as great as yours!

SherMarch 3, 2014 - 3:51 pm

I agree the security was a pain but the line seemed to move decently fast and the stained glass is too gorgeous to miss!
And thank you!! I love photography so sometimes my aim is more to get great pictures than to eat/see/shop/etc ;)

Tuileries Picnic Lunch with Paul

Got hungry after walking around the Louvre and amazingly, there was a food cart of the Paul french bakery chain outside the museum grounds. I am a huge fan of Paul’s lunch special set (their pastries are amazing and the sandwiches hearty) so we picked up some quiches, baguettes and croissants for an impromptu picnic […]

The Louvre

The Louvre is one of those museums that, even though you know you’ll never make it through the entire thing, you still go if only to peak inside. The museum is massive, housed in the Palais du Louvre (once the former fortress of kings until Louis XIV chose to relocate the monarchy seat to Versailles) and […]
