The Gargoyles of Notre Dame

The Catholic cathedral Notre Dame stands imposingly on the eastern half of  Île de la Cité. About as iconic as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame de Paris is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and well worth a visit. The church interior is massive and typically clogged with church goers and tourists […]

These photos are amazing! I’m a bit claustrophobic, but I think I’d brave the narrow climb for that view!

SherMarch 21, 2014 - 7:46 pm

haha, it definitely felt a little squeezed up at the top.

Eglise Sainte Chapelle

Eglise Sainte Chapelle In the heart of Paris, on the Ile de la Cite island, lies the Holy Chapel of Eglise Sainte Chapelle, a medieval Gothic chapel. This is a really beautiful church. I hate the lines/security to get in but it is really amazing. You got wonderful pictures, ours did not turn out half as great as yours!

SherMarch 3, 2014 - 3:51 pm

And thank you!! I love photography so sometimes my aim is more to get great pictures than to eat/see/shop/etc ;)

Tuileries Picnic Lunch with Paul

Got hungry after walking around the Louvre and amazingly, there was a food cart of the Paul french bakery chain outside the museum grounds. I am a huge fan of Paul’s lunch special set (their pastries are amazing and the sandwiches hearty) so we picked up some quiches, baguettes and croissants for an impromptu picnic […]

The Louvre

The Louvre is one of those museums that, even though you know you’ll never make it through the entire thing, you still go if only to peak inside. The museum is massive, housed in the Palais du Louvre (once the former fortress of kings until Louis XIV chose to relocate the monarchy seat to Versailles) and […]
