new orleans hyatt french quarter hotel review

If you’re looking for a hotel with a great location, the Hyatt New Orleans French Quarter is a great pick. Right on Iberville Street, the hotel is just a couple minutes walk to local oyster restaurants and about a 5 minute walk to Cafe Beignet for a decadent sweet breakfast. We stayed in a spacious room with a cute balcony overlooking the garden courtyard; there’s also another side of the hotel with a pool and bar area below. Compared to the Hyatt Regency, this hotel is definitely smaller and older, but if location is important, the Hyatt FQ can’t be beat! It’s only a block away from Bourbon Street and all that the Quarter has to offer.

The only negative was that wifi was only available on one device whereas the Hyatt Regency gave free wifi up to 5 devices. It made things a little difficult, since I rely on my phone for everything (including directions, yelping restaurants, booking tours to the Oak Alley plantation etc) and it was a very comfortable stay regardless!

(There were two Hyatt hotels in New Orleans and we decided to try them both out. You can find my review of the more modern Hyatt Regency New Orleans in the Central Business District here.)
