Very good breakfast. Nice big deep onsen. Friendly, accommodating staff (in spite of the language barrier). On my second morning, they brought breakfast right to my room, which was a nice touch. Quiet and peaceful. I had a room with a separate toilet and sink, which was very nice. Good strong wi-fi in my room. Daily Yamazaki right down the street was a godsend.

I really liked the food, especially the dinner - it was amazing! The futons were fluffy and the public bath was nice. I really enjoyed watching some TV after eating dinner and warming up in a hot bath. The monks were polite and answered all of our questions- I did not experience any rudeness that the other reviews are talking about. They even told us a lot about the current state of the temple after the morning ceremony was over.

The room was beautiful with view on the garden, the area is extremely quiet and peaceful, the staff is friendly, there is also a small "onsen" inside the structure. In the morning I joined the prayer with the monks, a beautiful experience. The breakfast was good.

You have to order dinner separately. The only issue was that the staff did not speak much useful english. However, the facility in itself was a worthy adventure. It looks from another age and another world, an authentic japanese experience regardless of the difficulties

Breakfast was amazing!! We are vegetarian so we loved the combination of flavors and textures put into the meals. You can see real love in it. Also everyone was so kind. We where almost the only ones there so we can enjoy the showers and bath with privacy. We definitely will recommend it to anyone staying in Koyasan and for sure we will come back if we have the chance.

A wonderful temple-stay in the heart of Koya-san. Very easy to get to and close to local cafes and shops. Breakfast was included (and vegan, being a Buddhist temple) and you could also attend a morning ceremony. On-site onsen (very nice and relaxing) and the staff were friendly, especially in explaining the procedure of the ceremony.

surrounded by nature and peace. the room was large enough and equipped with a separate WC room. we found nice kimono and slippers. everything was very clean. interesting vegetarian food experience. an early prayer is included in the rate which was moving. kind and helpful staff.

The temple is very impressive and wonderful, situated in a beautiful garden, surrounded by the forest. The most impressive part was of course taking part in the morning ceremony. The sleeping rooms are in a separate building next to the temple. We had booked the dinner and breakfast, which was a great experience. Many different dishes are served and arranged in a traditional style - definitively recommend to book this plan! They have a nice onsen, so this stay included all of a traditional ryokan experience.
