The Best Everlane Sweaters, Reviewed – Cashmere, Alpaca, Wool + More!

everlane-cashmere-dress-review

Out of everything Everlane makes, I think their sweaters are the best buy.

They tend to be made from high quality materials, like merino wool or cashmere, and the simple designs are timeless and quite wearable.

I find myself reaching for these sweaters year after year, so I decided it was time for a round up of my favorites!

Today’s post is a review of my favorite Everlane knitwear, from cotton to cashmere, wool and alpaca. The best part is they often continue to make the same sweaters, with subtle tweaks and new colors from year to year.

If you’ve been curious about Everlane’s sweaters and especially their affordable cashmere, then keep reading!

Everlane Felted Merino Half-Zip Sweater

in Grey Blue, size small

everlane-felted-merino-half-zip-sweater-review

Before it arrived, I debated getting this sweater. It seemed a little pricey for such a simple design.

Now that I have it, and have worn it to death, I think it’s one of the best sweaters Everlane has ever made. Photos don’t do it justice.

I like the thick heavy weight of the sweater and how the sleeves balloon just slightly before tapering at the wrist.

I’m especially impressed by the material – this sweater is made from 100% wool, which is extremely rare to find these days, much less at this price point.

The half zip has a slightly oversized fit and is extra soft and warm. It’s super cozy and in fact, feels almost as soft as cashmere.

For a luxurious but well made sweater, you can’t go wrong with Everlane’s merino wool half zip! I’ve originally got it in a soft brown color and a year later, picked up a second in Grey Blue!

Everlane Collared Cardigan

in Heathered Golden Oak, size small

everlane-collared-cardigan-outfit-review

I love a sweater that doubles as a cardigan!

This soft alpaca sweater is a thin, airy knit with a cute collar and chunky buttons all the way down the front. I like the vertical ribbed pattern and especially the cheery yellow color!

It’s a great layering piece too – wear it over a tank top or white tee, or layer it underneath a heavier, chunkier sweater in the really cold months.

Everlane Puff Sweater

in Heathered oat, size small

everlane-puff-sweater

If you like oversized sweaters, this one’s for you.

It’s a loose, comfy, slightly thin knit made from a blend of merino wool and alpaca. I like how the sweater has contrasting horizontal stripes of different size knits.

The pattern is pretty subtle, but gives the sweater a lot of texture and makes it look more expensive than it is.

The fit is great too. Perfect for layering, very cozy and very winter appropriate.

Since it’s made to be oversized, I stuck with my usual size but could have sized up for an even slouchier, casual feel. I also have more photos of it in this Alpaca post.

Everlane Cashmere Polo

in Canvas, size small

everlane-cashmere-polo-review

Normally I wouldn’t say I’m much of a polo shirt kind of girl.. but this long sleeve, open collar sweater looks so simple and chic.

Made from 100% cashmere, it features a button-less plunge collar and relaxed shape.

It’s the perfect top to throw on with jeans or sweatpants for that effortless, ‘just threw it on’ vibe – which is exactly what Everlane intended.

There’s also an updated version with this cute Peter Pan style collar that I like!

Everlane Chunky Cardigan

in Black, size small

everlane-chunky-cardigan-review

If you can’t stand the feeling of wool, you might like this cotton cardigan.

It’s a chunky, substantial wool layering piece made from 100% cotton. I like the heavy weight of it and the double zipper design (so you can unzip from both the top and bottom).

It has a really wide funnel neck that you can zip all the way up for warmth, or fold down as a collar.

My only suggestion would be to size up – this one is a little cropped in the body and I wanted an oversized fit, so I’d probably recommend going up 1 or 2 sizes!

Everlane Texture Cotton Crew

in Sage, size small

everlane-texture-cotton-crew-review

This is a chunky, comfy sweater made from 100% cotton.

It has a double layered crew neckline, dropped shoulders and slightly batwing sleeves. I like how slouchy and casual it is and the thick ribbed cotton and bulkier feel make it both comfortable and warm.

On the back, there’s a subtle contrasting color detail that keeps it interesting in the back.

If you like chunky knits, this one’s for you!

Everlane Ribbed Merino Tee

in Sky, size xs

everlane-ribbed-merino-tee

This top is slinky, slightly vintage looking and so easy to style.

I like the classic crew neckline and fitted longish short sleeves. The material is a merino wool nylon blend that’s not itchy and has an overall ribbed pattern.

I especially like the contrasting trims on the sleeves and hemline!

The fit is just slightly cropped and it’s super soft, made from sustainably sourced merino wool that’s fully traceable from farm to yarn.

Everlane Belgian Waffle Pocket Pullover

in Cobalt Blue, size small

everlane-belgian-waffle-pocket-pullover

I liked the loungewear-like look of this sweater.

It’s cozy, casual and very easy to style. The sweater is made from recycled cashmere yarn, so it’s soft (but not as baby soft as more premium cashmere).

I think the bright cobalt adds a punch of fun to dreary winter days and two front patch pockets really come in handy for chapstick and my phone!

Everlane Belgian Waffle Henley in ReCashmere

in Canvas, size small

everlane-cashmere-henley-review

I always love a good henley.

Usually I’ll get them from the men’s section but this time, Everlane made the perfect slouchy, oversized henley for women!

I’m obsessed with the round collar, chunky buttons and boxy fit. It’s the perfect kind of top to lounge around in, but also looks cute to wear to brunch.

Finally, the good quality cashmere and waffle knit texture add just a little something extra!

If there’s just one negative, it’s that the recycled cashmere isn’t as soft as true cashmere. I usually layer a cotton base layer or turtleneck underneath though, so that there’s no hint of itch!

Everlane Cashmere Sweater Tee

in Black and Sky Blue, both size xs

Everlane Cashmere Sweater Tee Review

I have this cashmere tee in a number of colors, because they go with everything!

I wrote a more in-depth post here, but they’re a dressier alternative to a simple tee. They’re lightweight, but made from a fine grade A cashmere, so they’ll keep you warm as a base layer in the winter.

I like the subtle rib detail on the sleeve and hemline and the sheer range of colors means anyone will find a version to like!

Everlane Oversized Alpaca Crew

in Dark Copper / Almond, size small

everlane-oversized-alpaca-crew-review

I usually never wear stripes. Especially horizontal stripes.

There’s a ‘fashion rule’ that wide stripes going across the body will make you appear wider. But when I saw this alpaca crew, I kind of liked the ‘Where’s Waldo’ vibe and got it anyway.

Thanks to the crew neckline, oversized fit and balloon sleeves, I think the sweater offers a relaxed, casual vibe that’s still flattering, stripes aside.

But – don’t worry. It comes in a whopping 12 colors (most of which are solid) so there’s plenty of options. If you like cozy, comfy and thinner knit sweaters, this alpaca crewneck is for you.

I’m glad I found your blog. We have similar styles (although I think you can handle stiletto boots better than me lol) and I appreciate all the reviews of Everlane pieces! They have wonderful stuff but I agonize over any new item I bring into my life and your posts are providing great info for me to decide. I’ve been considering the cashmere polo for a couple weeks now. Think I’m gonna do it.
