I’m editing these photos while watching the election and man, is it a close race!
I wore this outfit on one of NYC’s colder days a couple weeks ago. We were trying to find Bethesda terrace and stumbled on this cute wooden house instead. It looked like a family had rented it out for a birthday since we saw some golden letter balloons inside. When we first saw it in the woods, I immediately thought of that creepy house from Pretty Little Liars ha.
The coat is from online store Dezzal. It’s made of thick wool and quite warm and I picked it since I liked the contrast color and belt loop. It ended up being much bigger than I expected but you always need at least one large winter coat to wear over thick sweaters so it’s ok! All their coats are so cute – I’m loving this fun colorblock jacket as well.
I paired it with my trusty suede boots from Vince, which have lasted me 3 years in this city. I’m honestly quite surprised that they’ve held up so well! Vince is my go to for chic but timeless shoes and sweaters.
And lastly because the coat is so big, I paired it with this small Coach crossbody messenger bag that I can’t get enough of lately. It’s a super small bag but still fits all the essentials – keys, wallet, phone, headphones – so it’s perfect! I also love how it’s not a typical zipper or button closure but instead has one of those old school coin pouch fasteners. Every time I wear it people ask me where it’s from – no one believes it’s Coach! The brand has done a huge rehaul in the last year and I find myself loving everything in their new stores, especially the varsity jacket and cute key chains.
Ok, the presidential race is ending up being WAY closer than I thought it would be so I find myself quite distracted. Currently Trump at 150, Hilary at 109 and tons of states still counting with the vote difference less than 10k in almost all the swing states!
Switching off to see the results – talk soon!
Edited to add: Wow, I can’t believe Trump won. Definitely not what I was expecting. Also I had a couple people message me to ask if I really voted for Trump and I don’t want this to be a political space (so not going to say publicly) but I meant my post title to combine both campaign slogans. I guess that was a bit too unclear though ha!
Anyway, regardless of who we all individually voted for, I think it’s our civic duty to rally around the new president and hope for change and a better future. I see a bunch of posts on social media and blogs about people wanting to move and honestly – that is such a crap reaction. As history has played out, people say anything to get elected and the next 4 years are anyone’s guess. If you want to move, I think that’s giving up too early! I would like to be optimistic about the future :)
