Central Park
Okay, I don’t have any fancy occasions coming up. But summer-y weather in New York always gets me so excited to spend more time outdoors and especially in my favorite part of the city: Central Park.
Here are some of my favorite spots in the park:
Central Park Reservoir – a lesser known section of the park and probably where we visit the most! the walking/running loop is 2.5 miles long and always a great work out
Sheep’s Meadow – the giant green lawn is great for group picnics and sunbathing. bring a book and a beach blanket and soak in the sun!
Sailboat Pond – always lots of little kids releasing their sail boats in the summer, it’s a great people watching spot! Grab a coffee, sit on the benches and enjoy the sunshine
Bethesda Fountain & Boathouse – this section really comes alive in the summer. rent a rowboat for a cute date or have drinks at the Boat house
Bow Bridge – probably the most romantic spot in Central Park! chances are you’ll see a wedding shoot going on during the summer :)
The Mall – a long wide avenue that makes for a great walk

I was in the mood for some summer additions to my closet, so for this month’s Stitch Fix I asked my stylish for casual summer dresses and skirts. Here’s what I received and loved:
Navy Blue Dress – simple, but so cute. loved the pockets, open back and adjustable straps!
Gold Gorjana Necklace – I love simple, dainty necklaces – in fact, I already own this! it’s funny how well stitch fix curates pieces for you, because several times now they’ve sent me items i’ve actually purchased on my own.
Market & Spruce Striped Skirt – love the scallop hemline and pockets!
Rag & Bone Button Down – i love a good button down shirt and this one is super soft
I wore 2 outfits throughout the weekend and they were perfect pieces for just a casual day out and about. I can also see them for a summer brunch date with the girls or with heels and a blazer for a dinner date!

How Stitch Fix Works
You fill out a style profile, tell them what you’re looking for… and they do the work!
The Online Questionnaire
First you fill out their short quiz so the Stitch Fix team can learn about your style, fit and product preferences. It’s incredibly comprehensive but also very easy to fill out – for example:
Whats your body type? Do you like tops to fit loosely? What are your favorite features to show off vs what do you prefer to conceal?
Set Your Preferences
Then they show you some outfit collages where you can rate them, so they narrow down exactly what you like and dislike.
You can also provide input on the type of items you’re looking for. Casual clothing, work wear, even cocktail dresses or workout clothes! They’ve got a HUGE variety.
I have to admit, I’m usually the kind of person who loves to shop so I like picking out things myself. But sometimes it helps to get a trusted stylist to suggest things you never knew you’d like. And it’s uncanny how well the Stitch Fix stylists are in tune with your style! I’ve had several boxes now where my stylist sent me items that I’ve previously bought on my own.
Price
From there, you move on to price. You can set a budget (so they don’t tempt you with super high end designers you love but can’t afford) and you can specify particular items, styles or brands you’re looking for in the ‘notes’ box.
Your Fix Arrives by Mail!
I love how convenient it is to shop Stitch Fix because the package comes in the mail, so I can try everything on at home.
Each fix costs $20, and the styling fee is applied to any items you keep. For anything that doesn’t fit or match your style, it’s very easy to return. I love that Stitch Fix includes a prepaid bag with the return label already on it – no need to scrounge for a box or deal with printing and shipping tape – it’s all very convenient.
Stitch Fix will also send you reminders via email, so that the entire checkout process is super simple. Best of all- it’s not a subscription service. You can order your Fix whenever you want!

Stitch Fix Sizing & Brands
Stitch Fix has thousands of brands at all different price points and an impressive selection of sizes (0-24W/XS-3X). They carry maternity and petite options and can curate fixes based on work wear, casual clothes, athleisure – you name it.
What I really love is that each fix isn’t limited to just clothing. I usually get either shoes, jewelry, handbags (or a variety) in every box.
For the men and kids in your life, Stitch Fix also carries Men’s (sizes XS-3X) and Kids (sizes 2T-14).
Also included with the items are styling suggestion cards, so even though you’re getting 5 items, you’ll be able to visualize much more than just 5 outfits! I’m all about mixing old and new and I love when I can easily see how a new purchase will complement my existing wardrobe.
Finally, there’s absolutely no subscription required. You can schedule a Fix anytime you want – either on-demand, every few weeks, once a month, or every season.
